Hearing in case regarding disobeying police order

On September 15, the prosecutor brought charges against a 20-year-old woman, who is suspected of disobeying a police order. The Malmö District Court will conduct a hearing on October 11, 2023.

The case relates to an incident that occurred on July 24 this year. The hearing is scheduled to start at 15:45 and is held in a larger courtroom with a side room designated for press and audience.

Practical information

There is a limited number of audience seats in the courtroom (room 20). These seats are primarily reserved for pre-registered media (excluding camera operators and photographers) who have been notified of their allocated seats. Press credentials are required. Pre-registration must be completed by October 10th at 16:00 via email to malmo.tingsratt.sakerhet@dom.se. Kindly specify if you intend to use electronic equipment for reporting within the courtroom.

A limited number of audience seats will be available for the general public. No pre-registration is required for these seats.

Press accreditation can be obtained at the security booth adjacent to the reception.

Security checks

There will be security checks at the entrance. As part of the check, all visitors must pass through an electronic article surveillance gate. Bags and personal items will be screened via an X-ray machine. The security check will be quicker the fewer items that are brought. If possible, avoid bringing larger bags. Delays may occur during peak hours, so it is important to arrive well ahead of schedule. Please note that members of the press are not exempt from security checks.

Procedural rules

It is not permitted to take photographs in the courtroom or of the inside of the courtroom during the trial. This also applies to the side room.

Upon approval from the District Court, journalists, organizations, and researchers covering and reporting from the trial may use electronic equipment within the courtroom and side room for their work (e.g., mobile phones, tablets, computers, and audio recording devices). It is important that you indicate this in advance to our security staff for approval.

For all other visitors, any electronic devices that could disrupt the order or be used for photography (e.g., mobile phones, tablets, computers, and cameras) must be turned off and tucked away when inside the courtroom or side room.

The presiding judge may announce additional procedural rules.

WiFi access

It is possible to access a network connection via WiFi. On the day of the hearing, you can do so on-site by selecting the network 'Guest_Sveriges_Domstolar' and applying for internet access. Please provide your name, organization and fill in malmo.tingsratt.sakerhet@dom.se where it says “E-postadress till din mötesvärd”.
